Wire Rope Sling – 3T WLL

Wire rope slings are among the most versatile and reliable lifting accessories used in heavy industry. Constructed from multiple strands of high-tensile steel wire twisted around a central core, they combine exceptional tensile strength with a degree of flexibility that makes them suitable for a wide range of load shapes and rigging configurations. Compared to chain slings, wire rope slings offer a superior strength-to-weight ratio, and their ability to conform to irregular load surfaces reduces the risk of point loading and surface damage.

The galvanized steel construction of this sling delivers outstanding resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and elevated temperatures. Hot-dip galvanizing creates a robust zinc coating that forms a metallurgical bond with the steel wire, providing long-lasting protection against moisture, salt spray, and chemical exposure. This makes galvanized wire rope slings the preferred choice in harsh operating environments such as offshore platforms, coastal construction sites, and industrial facilities where chemical or thermal attack would rapidly degrade uncoated alternatives. The 6×36 IWRC (Independent Wire Rope Core) construction further enhances flexibility and resistance to crushing forces.

Flemish eye terminations are formed by splitting the rope strands and re-weaving them back into the rope body, creating a mechanically interlocked loop that achieves close to 100% rope breaking strength efficiency. Heavy-duty thimbles are fitted within each eye to protect the rope from wear caused by hooks, shackles, and other rigging hardware. This sling is rated to a 3-tonne working load limit (WLL) in a straight single-leg configuration, with a 5:1 safety factor in accordance with EN 13414-1. Typical applications include steel mills, foundries, offshore lifting operations, and heavy civil construction where reliable, high-performance lifting equipment is non-negotiable.
