ZERUST® ICT® Tube Strip Pro

The ZERUST® ICT® Tube Strip Pro is a purpose-engineered corrosion protection solution designed for enclosed, confined, and hard-to-access metal spaces. Constructed from a flexible solid-core plastic substrate, the strip is impregnated with ZERUST® Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) Technology — a proven, chemistry-based approach to preventing rust and corrosion in sealed environments. Its slim, flexible profile allows it to be inserted directly into tubes, pipes, hollow frames, and cavities where traditional coatings, oils, or desiccants cannot be effectively applied.

How VCI Technology Works

ZERUST® VCI Technology works by releasing a controlled concentration of Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor molecules into the enclosed air space surrounding the metal. These molecules migrate through the air and form an invisible, monomolecular protective layer on all exposed metal surfaces within the confined space — including complex geometries, threads, and interior walls that are impossible to coat manually. This electrochemical barrier prevents moisture, oxygen, and corrosive contaminants from initiating the oxidation process, effectively halting corrosion at the molecular level. Critically, the protection is achieved without direct contact, leaving no residue, film, or contamination on the protected components.

Usage Guidance

To deploy the ZERUST® ICT® Tube Strip Pro, simply insert the strip into the target cavity, tube, pipe, or enclosed space. The strip should be sized to fit within the interior diameter or cross-section of the space being protected. Once inserted, seal the opening where possible to maximize VCI concentration and extend the effective protection period. No surface preparation, cleaning agents, or additional coatings are required. The strip begins releasing VCI molecules immediately upon insertion and continues to provide protection throughout its rated service life. For optimal results in high-temperature or high-humidity environments typical of Gulf industrial facilities, inspect and replace strips according to the manufacturer’s recommended service intervals.
