The ZERUST® ICT®510-OPS Outdoor Preservation VCI Shrink Film is a premium 8-mil polyolefin film engineered for the long-term protection of large industrial assets in demanding outdoor environments. Combining the mechanical strength of a heavy-gauge shrink film with ZERUST®'s proven Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) chemistry, this product delivers a complete preservation solution that guards against corrosion, moisture ingress, dust, and UV degradation — all in a single application.

How VCI Technology Works

ZERUST® VCI technology is embedded directly into the film matrix during manufacture. Once the film is applied and heat-shrunk around an asset, VCI molecules volatilise and migrate through the enclosed atmosphere, forming an invisible monomolecular protective layer on all exposed metal surfaces — including recessed areas and complex geometries that physical coatings cannot reach. This contact-free corrosion inhibition is effective on steel, cast iron, copper, aluminium, and multi-metal assemblies, eliminating the need for oils, greases, or desiccants.

UV Stabilisation and Outdoor Durability

Formulated with high-performance UV stabilisers, the ICT®510-OPS film resists photodegradation caused by prolonged solar exposure — a critical requirement in the high-UV, high-temperature climates of the Gulf and Middle East. Application and Installation

The ICT®510-OPS film is applied using standard heat-shrink equipment. The film is draped or wrapped around the asset and then heat-activated using a propane torch or industrial heat gun, causing it to conform tightly to the asset's contours and create a sealed, weather-resistant enclosure. Seams can be overlapped and heat-welded for a fully enclosed package. No special surface preparation or degreasing is required prior to wrapping, and the film can be applied over existing coatings or primed surfaces. For very large assets, multiple panels can be joined on-site.
