Overview

Overview

The full-bore ball valve is a quarter-turn shut-off valve engineered for reliable on/off flow control across demanding industrial applications. Its full-bore (full-port) design ensures that the internal diameter of the valve matches the pipe bore, eliminating flow restriction and minimising pressure drop — a critical advantage in high-throughput systems such as oil & gas pipelines, water treatment plants, HVAC networks, and petrochemical processing facilities.

Body Materials

Valve bodies are available in a comprehensive range of materials to suit diverse process media and environmental conditions:

  • Carbon Steel (CS / A216 WCB) — general-purpose service, high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
  • Stainless Steel 304 (CF8) — corrosion-resistant service, food-grade and mild chemical environments.
  • Stainless Steel 316 / 316L (CF8M / CF3M) — superior chloride and acid resistance for petrochemical and marine service.
  • Cast Iron (GG25) — cost-effective solution for water, steam, and low-pressure utility services.

End Connections

The valve is offered with multiple end-connection options to integrate seamlessly into existing piping systems:

  • Threaded (NPT / BSP) — ideal for smaller bore sizes and maintenance-friendly installations.
  • Flanged (ANSI / DIN / JIS) — suitable for larger diameters and high-pressure pipelines requiring robust, bolted connections.
  • Socket-Weld (SW) — provides a leak-tight, permanent joint for high-pressure and high-temperature service.

Size Range & Pressure Ratings

Available in nominal diameters from DN15 to DN600 (½" to 24"), the valve accommodates a wide spectrum of pipeline sizes. Pressure ratings span PN16 to PN100 (Class 150 to Class 600), ensuring suitability for both low-pressure utility systems and high-pressure process lines.

Actuator Mounting & Automation

All valves feature an ISO 5211 top-flange actuator mounting pad, enabling direct mounting of pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic actuators without additional brackets. This standardised interface simplifies automation upgrades and reduces installation time and cost.

Standards Compliance

Designed and tested in accordance with internationally recognised standards:

  • ANSI/ASME B16.34 — valves, flanged, threaded, and welding end.
  • DIN EN 1983 — industrial ball valves.
  • JIS B2083 — ball valves for general use.
  • API 6D — pipeline and piping valves for oil & gas service.

Typical Applications

The full-bore ball valve is widely deployed across multiple industries:

  • Oil & Gas: upstream wellhead isolation, midstream pipeline shut-off, and downstream refinery service.
  • Water Treatment: potable water distribution, wastewater management, and desalination plants.
  • HVAC: chilled water, heating circuits, and building services pipework.
  • Petrochemical & Chemical Processing: aggressive media handling, solvent lines, and process isolation duties.
