Overview
The CPVC Coupling is a straight, socket-end fitting designed to join two CPVC pipes of the same diameter in a permanent, leak-tight connection. Using a solvent cement bonding process, the coupling creates a molecular bond between the fitting and pipe surfaces, producing a joint that is as strong as the pipe itself. This makes it an ideal solution for continuous-run piping systems where reliability and long service life are essential.
Manufactured from Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC), this coupling offers outstanding resistance to a broad spectrum of acids, bases, salts, and aggressive industrial chemicals. CPVC retains its structural integrity at elevated temperatures — typically up to 200°F (93°C) — making it suitable for hot-fluid handling applications where standard PVC would be inadequate. Its inherent corrosion resistance eliminates the risk of rust or scale build-up that affects metallic fittings over time.
CPVC couplings are widely used across chemical processing plants, industrial manufacturing facilities, water treatment systems, and semiconductor fabrication environments. Wherever aggressive media, high purity requirements, or corrosive conditions are present, CPVC piping systems with solvent-welded couplings provide a cost-effective and durable alternative to stainless steel or other exotic alloys.
Installation is straightforward using standard CPVC solvent cement and primer. The socket weld ends accept the pipe with a snug fit, and after applying cement and allowing the joint to cure, the connection is ready for service. The smooth bore interior of the coupling minimises turbulence and pressure drop, maintaining efficient flow characteristics throughout the piping system. Available in a comprehensive size range from 1/4" to 6", the coupling accommodates a wide variety of system configurations and flow requirements.
This coupling is manufactured in conformance with ASTM F439, the standard specification for socket-type CPVC plastic pipe fittings, Schedule 80. Compliance with this standard ensures consistent dimensional accuracy, material quality, and pressure ratings, giving engineers and installers confidence in the product's performance across demanding industrial applications.
