The CPVC Gate Valve is a full-bore, rising stem valve engineered for reliable on/off shut-off service in demanding chemical and corrosive fluid piping systems. Manufactured from Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC), this valve delivers outstanding resistance to a broad spectrum of aggressive chemicals, acids, and alkalis, making it the preferred choice wherever metal valves would corrode or degrade.

Designed for straightforward isolation duty, the gate valve provides minimal flow restriction when fully open, ensuring system efficiency and low pressure drop across the valve body.

Construction Details

The valve body and bonnet are precision-moulded from high-grade CPVC compound, offering superior mechanical strength and dimensional stability across a wide temperature range. The full-bore internal passage matches the nominal pipe bore, eliminating turbulence and enabling unrestricted flow when the valve is in the open position.

The rising stem design provides a clear visual indication of valve position — the stem rises when the valve opens and retracts when closed — allowing operators to confirm status at a glance without additional instrumentation. The stem is manufactured from corrosion-resistant material and features precision threading for smooth, consistent actuation.

Operation is via a robust handwheel, sized to provide adequate torque for reliable seating and unseating across the full pressure and temperature range. The packing gland is adjustable to maintain a leak-free stem seal throughout the service life of the valve.

End Connection Options

The CPVC Gate Valve is available with two end connection configurations to suit different installation requirements:

  • Socket Weld (Solvent Cement) Ends: Ideal for permanent, leak-proof joints in thermoplastic piping systems. The socket depth and diameter conform to ASTM D2467 / ISO 15493 standards.
  • Threaded (BSP/NPT) Ends: Suitable for installations requiring removable connections or integration with threaded fittings and equipment.

Size Range

Available in nominal pipe sizes from 1/2" to 4" (DN15 to DN100), the valve range covers the majority of industrial and commercial piping applications. Each size is dimensionally consistent with standard CPVC pipe schedules, simplifying integration into new or existing systems.

Maintenance requirements are minimal. Periodic inspection of the packing gland is recommended; if minor stem leakage is observed, the gland nut can be tightened incrementally. The valve should not be used for throttling service, as partial opening accelerates seat wear. Always depressurise and drain the line before performing any maintenance.
