Overview

Instrument manifold valves are critical interface components that connect pressure transmitters and differential pressure (DP) instruments to process piping systems. Engineered for the rigorous demands of oil & gas production, refining, and petrochemical processing, these valves provide safe and reliable isolation, equalisation, and calibration access points between the process and the instrument.

Configurations

Manifold valves are available in three standard configurations to suit different instrumentation requirements:

  • 2-Valve Manifold: Provides isolation and vent functions for gauge pressure transmitters. Compact design suitable for single-sided pressure measurement.
  • 3-Valve Manifold: Incorporates two block valves and one equalising valve, ideal for differential pressure transmitters requiring isolation and equalisation.
  • 5-Valve Manifold: Features two block valves, one equalising valve, and two vent/calibration valves, offering the most comprehensive isolation and calibration capability for DP instruments.

Materials and Construction

The valve body is manufactured from SS 316 stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance against a wide range of process fluids including hydrocarbons, acids, and chloride-bearing media commonly encountered in oil & gas and petrochemical environments. High-pressure needle valve stems provide precise flow control and a reliable metal-to-metal or soft-seat seal, ensuring zero leakage under demanding operating conditions.

Pressure Rating

Rated for working pressures up to 420 bar (6,000 psi), these manifold valves are suitable for high-pressure process lines found in upstream oil & gas wellheads, gas compression stations, and high-pressure petrochemical reactors. The robust construction ensures long service life even under cyclic pressure loading.

Installation and Maintenance Benefits

Manifold valves simplify instrument installation by consolidating multiple valve functions into a single compact assembly, reducing the number of potential leak points and minimising installation time. Direct-mount configurations eliminate impulse tubing between the manifold and the transmitter, further reducing the risk of leaks and improving measurement accuracy. Maintenance is straightforward: needle valve stems can be repacked under pressure in many designs, and the modular construction allows individual components to be serviced without removing the entire assembly from the process line.
