Overview

Solid-Front Phenolic Case Construction

The Phenolic Case Safety Gauge is built around a robust solid-front phenolic case, specifically engineered to protect operators in demanding industrial environments. The solid front prevents case fragments from projecting forward in the event of a Bourdon tube failure, while the blowout-back design channels any sudden pressure release safely away from the user. This construction meets the requirements of safety-pattern gauges used in high-risk process applications.

Stainless Steel Bourdon Tube and Socket

The sensing element is a stainless steel Bourdon tube paired with a stainless steel socket, providing excellent resistance to corrosion and compatibility with a broad range of process media. This combination ensures long service life and measurement accuracy even in aggressive or humid environments.

Glycerin-Filled Option for Pulsating Applications

For applications subject to pressure pulsation, vibration, or mechanical shock, the gauge is available in a glycerin-filled version. The glycerin fill dampens pointer oscillation, reduces internal wear, and extends the operational life of the instrument, making it well suited to pump outlets, compressors, and other dynamic process connections.

Dial Sizes and Pressure Ranges

The gauge is offered in dial sizes of 100 mm and 150 mm to accommodate different readability requirements and panel configurations. Pressure ranges span from 0 to 600 bar, covering low-, medium-, and high-pressure process lines across a wide variety of industries including oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation.

ATEX Hazardous Area Suitability

The Phenolic Case Safety Gauge is suitable for use in ATEX-classified hazardous areas where flammable gases, vapours, or dusts may be present. Its safety-pattern design and robust phenolic enclosure make it a reliable choice for Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments, helping facilities maintain compliance with hazardous area regulations while ensuring operator safety.
