Overview

The pneumatic filter-regulator is a combined air preparation unit that removes contaminants from compressed air while simultaneously maintaining a stable, user-defined downstream pressure. By integrating both filtration and pressure regulation into a single compact body, it eliminates the need for separate components and simplifies installation in pneumatic circuits. An integral pressure gauge provides continuous, at-a-glance monitoring of the regulated output pressure.

Incoming compressed air first passes through a 5-micron polycarbonate bowl where a centrifugal deflector spins the airstream, causing water droplets, oil aerosols, and solid particulates to separate out and collect at the bottom of the bowl. The cleaned air then flows through the regulator section, where a spring-loaded diaphragm mechanism maintains the outlet pressure at the level set by the adjustment knob — continuously compensating for fluctuations in supply pressure or downstream demand. Output pressure is adjustable across the full 0–10 bar range to suit a wide variety of equipment requirements.

This unit is well suited to a broad range of industrial and laboratory applications. Typical uses include supplying clean, regulated air to pneumatic hand tools, actuators, cylinders, and valves on production lines; conditioning air for sensitive instrumentation and analytical equipment; and providing stable pressure to automation systems where consistent air quality is critical to process reliability. The unit is equally at home in light workshop environments and demanding continuous-duty industrial settings.

Installation is straightforward using the 1/4" or 1/2" NPT threaded ports. The unit should be mounted vertically with the bowl facing downward to allow condensate to collect by gravity. Ensure the arrow cast into the body is aligned with the direction of airflow. Tighten all fittings to the torque values specified for the port size and fitting material, and verify there are no leaks before bringing the system to full operating pressure. A maximum inlet pressure of 16 bar must not be exceeded.

Routine maintenance is minimal but important for sustained performance. Drain accumulated condensate from the bowl regularly — daily in high-humidity environments or wherever the air supply carries significant moisture. The polycarbonate bowl can be removed and cleaned with warm water; avoid solvents that may attack the bowl material. Replace the 5-micron filter element at the intervals recommended by the manufacturer or whenever a noticeable pressure drop across the unit indicates the element is becoming blocked. Inspect all seals and O-rings during element changes and replace any that show signs of wear or deterioration.
