Construction & Materials

Manufactured from CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) reinforced with glass fiber, this union achieves an enhanced pressure rating well above that of standard CPVC fittings. The three-piece union design — comprising two end pieces and a union nut — allows for straightforward assembly and disassembly without disturbing the surrounding pipework. Socket weld ends ensure a strong, solvent-cemented bond to CPVC pipe, while the EPDM O-ring seal provides a reliable, chemically resistant sealing surface at the joint face.

Available in sizes ranging from 1/2" to 4", the Reinforced Union accommodates a wide variety of piping system configurations. The glass fiber reinforcement not only increases pressure capability but also improves dimensional stability under thermal cycling, reducing the risk of joint failure over the service life of the system.

Installation Notes

Install using standard CPVC solvent cement in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable piping codes. Ensure pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and cleaned before applying cement. Hand-tighten the union nut firmly — do not use tools to over-torque, as this may damage the O-ring or union body. Allow full cure time before pressurising the system. Inspect the EPDM O-ring for damage prior to each reassembly to maintain seal integrity.
