Overview

The True Union CPVC Ball Valve is a high-performance thermoplastic valve engineered for reliable flow control in demanding industrial and commercial applications. Its true union end design allows the valve body to be removed from the pipeline without cutting pipe or disturbing adjacent fittings, dramatically simplifying maintenance and replacement.

Construction and Materials

The valve body is manufactured from CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride), a thermoplastic material renowned for its exceptional resistance to corrosive chemicals, elevated temperatures, and UV exposure. CPVC outperforms standard PVC in high-temperature service and is well suited for aggressive fluid handling environments.

Seating is provided by PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) seats, which deliver low-friction operation, bubble-tight shutoff, and long service life even in chemically aggressive media. EPDM O-rings provide secondary sealing at the union connections, ensuring leak-free performance across the full operating pressure and temperature range.

True Union End Design

The defining feature of this valve is its true union construction. Threaded union nuts at each end allow the valve body to be completely removed from the line in seconds — no pipe cutting, no special tools, and no system downtime beyond what is strictly necessary. This design is especially valuable in chemical processing and water treatment installations where routine inspection and servicing are required.

Size Range and Pressure Rating

Available in sizes from 1/2" through 4", this valve accommodates a wide range of pipe systems. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 150 psi at temperatures up to 140°F (60°C), making it suitable for most industrial fluid handling systems operating within these parameters.

Chemical Resistance

CPVC offers broad compatibility with a wide spectrum of chemicals, including dilute and concentrated acids, alkalis (bases), saline solutions, and many industrial solvents. This makes the True Union CPVC Ball Valve an ideal choice wherever metallic valves would be subject to corrosion or contamination of the process fluid.

Standards Compliance

The valve is manufactured in compliance with ASTM D1784, the standard specification for rigid PVC and CPVC compounds. This ensures consistent material quality, dimensional accuracy, and mechanical performance across every unit.

Typical Applications

This valve is widely used across industries where corrosion resistance and ease of maintenance are priorities:

  • Chemical processing and dosing systems
  • Water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Industrial plumbing and process piping
  • Semiconductor and electronics manufacturing
  • Swimming pool and aquatic facility systems
